Our Journey

It all began on an autumn day in 2021 when we were visiting friends and fishing at Palokin Saunalampi. As we sat by the water, our eyes caught sight of an old building peeking through the trees, sparking our curiosity. It turned out that the owner was closing down a nursing home and that the place might soon be up for sale.

We had been looking for a summer house for a while, but this felt like something entirely different and special. It was more than just a building; it was a place with its own unique atmosphere. The very next week, we reached out to the owner, and that's when it all started. We managed to purchase the property, an old teachers' residence, and realized we were about to embark on a big adventure – the former school building was still vacant and in need of a new purpose.

That's when the idea was born: why not transform this space into a guesthouse where visitors could enjoy peace, nature, and warm hospitality? It felt like the right solution, so we began planning and turning our dream into reality.

The "intense" renovation began, and every weekend, we drove from Kotka to work on the place alongside our regular jobs. Finally, in July 2022, we welcomed our first guests.

Today, we are proud to share this place with all those who seek peace, beautiful landscapes, and a homely atmosphere. Our guesthouse was born out of a desire to create a space where guests feel welcomed and relaxed.
